Storm Ida, Pennsylvania, USA, Early September 2021Remnants of Hurricane Ida moved north bringing heavy rainfall and floods to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of USA, including Pennsylvania. 5 storm-related fatalities were reported in Pennsylvania, including one as a result of wind damage, 3 people who died in floods in Montgomery County and 1 in floods in Milford in Upper Bucks County. Emergency officials evacuated about 3,000 people living downstream from a dam near Portage and Johnstown. Levels of the Wilmore dam reached the danger mark after hours of heavy rain, prompting pre-emptive evacuations. On 02 September officials advised all residents and businesses downstream of Pickering Creek Dam, located in Schuylkill Township, Chester County, to evacuate the area immediately.
