Hurricane Rick, Mexico, October 2021Hurricane Rick made landfall on the coast of Guerrero state, Mexico, near the port of Lazaro Cardenas in Michoacán state, early 25 October 2021. Civil Protection and media reported wind damage, power outages and some flooding in Michoacán and Guerrero states. Emergency shelters were opened in Lazaro Cardenas and also in Zihuatanejo in Guerrero. Guerrero Civil Protection reported families been evacuated in Zihuatanejo de Azueta and Tecpan de Galeana, where 37 houses were affected by flooding . Media said cars were stranded in floodwaters in Zihuatanejo and Acapulco. National Civil Protection warned of possible consequences of necessary dam releases from the José María Morelos dam near Lazaro Cardenas. As of early 26 October Rick had weakened to a tropical depression, located over the eastern part of Jalisco state.Tue 26 Oct 2021FloodList provided by Copernicus GLOFAS
