Tamil Nadu, India, Early 2021Heavy rainfall - some of the heaviest rainfall since the the 2015 floods - affected parts of Chennai and surrounding areas of Tamil Nadu from 06 November 2021. Rivers were swollen and authorities carried out releases from several dams. 4 teams from the National Disaster Response Force were deployed (Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu and Madurai). In a report of 08 November, India's National Emergency Response Centre (NERC0 reported 31 districts in Tamil Nadu affected, and 1,203 people displaced in 58 relief camps. 4 deaths (3 by lightning strike, 1 drowning) were reported in Chennai, Madurai (2) and Theni. 302 houses or huts were damaged and 31 destroyed.Tue 9 Nov 2021FloodList provided by Copernicus GLOFAS
