United Arab Emirates and Qatar, Late July 2022Heavy rains resulted in flash floods on 27 July 2022 in the eastern parts of the United Arab Emirates. Houses were damaged, and vehicles swept away in the floods. National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) said around 870 people were rescued in Sharjah and Fujairah. Areas in Ras Al Khaimah were also affected. A total of 3,800 people were relocated to safer accommodation. NCEMA said the rainfall was the heaviest seen in the month of July for more than 30 years. Local media said parts of Fujairah received more than double the UAE's typical annual rainfall in 4 days to 28 July. On 28 July floods swept through the streets of Doha following heavy rains, bringing parts of the capital of Qatar to a standstill, media reported.Fri 29 Jul 2022FloodList provided by Copernicus GLOFAS
