  • An earthquake of 5.7 M at a depth of 10 km occurred in Shan State, eastern Myanmar, on 17 November at 01.37 UTC (08.07 local time). The epicentre was located approximately 25 km south-west of Kengtung City and 85 km west-southwest of the China border, Yunnan Province.
  • Four aftershocks have occured after the main earthquake. Tremors were felt across Vietnam and Thailand.
  • USGS PAGER estimates that 3,000 people were exposed to very strong shaking and 17,000 to strong shaking.
  • According to media, no relevant reports of any casualty or damage have been recorded, stability checks are currently being carried out.
