  • An earthquake of 5.2 M at a depth of 8.16 km occurred in central-east Turkey on 4 August at 9.37 UTC (12.37 local time). The epicentre was approximately 38 km southeast of Malatya City (Malatya Province).
  • Up to 16,000 people were exposed to strong shaking. A series of aftershocks of magnitude up to 4.8 M have been registered.
  • According to media reports, there are no casualties, however, some damage has been sustained to buildings in Pütürge Town, 13 km east of the epicentre.
