  • A 5.9 M earthquake at a depth of 62.7 km struck eastern Myanmar on 3 February at 15:34 UTC (22:34 local time). The epicentre was located 95 km west of Yenangyaung, Magway region. The event was followed by an aftershock in the same area, at the same depth, 20 minutes later.
  • For the main event, USGS PAGER estimates that up to 11,000 people were exposed to moderate shaking.
  • Media as of 4 February reports that tremors were felt up to eastern India and neighbouring Bangladesh. No immediate casualties or damage have been recorded.
