Tropical Cyclone Yasa, Fiji, December 2020The Fiji Government said 2 people died and 24,000 were displaced after Cyclone Yasa made landfall as a category 5 system on 17 December in the Bua Province of Vanua Levu. Initial assessments suggest the worst of the damage was caused by strong winds. Authorities reported wind gusts of 345 km/h. Media reported some flooding in Naitasiri and Cakaudrove provinces and storm surge caused flooding in Labassa, Macuata Province. Fiji Roads Authority reported 24 roads closed in the Central Division, 17 roads closed in the Eastern Division, 18 roads closed in the Western Division and 42 roads closed in the Northern Division, mostly as a result of flooding or landslides but also wind damage.Mon 14 Dec 2020FloodList provided by Copernicus GloFAS
