EMSR520: Copernicus Emergency Management Service has been activated
Netherlands, July 2021Parts of the province of Limburg in southern Netherlands saw flooding from overflowing rivers after heavy rain and earlier flooding in upstream areas along the Meuse / Maas River in Belgium. Evacuations were reported in Valkenburg and Roermond, then later in Venlo where media said 10,000 evacuated. Spouth limburg aithoirites said the dike of the Juliana Canal failed on 16 July, prompting evacuations in Meerssen municipality (Bunde, Voulwames, Brommelen and Geulle).
