Yemen, August 2022SABA News Agency in Yemen reported severe flooding in several districts of Hajjah Governorate from 03 August 2022. Affected districts included Al Mahabishah, Ash Shahil, Qafl Shamer, Khayran Al Muharraq and Aslem. Homes and farms were damaged, although no figures were given to the numbers of people affected or disaplaced. Damage to roads left some villages isolated. Other media, quoting local sources, reported 9 people died in floods in Hajjah, while 2 people lost their lives due to lightning strikes in Saada Governorate. SABA News Agency also reported flooding in Al Jawf Governorate around the same time. Two people died after a vehicle was swept away in Khabb wa ash Sha'af District. Six homes were destroyed and around 20 damaged in Al Hazm.
