- Heavy rainfall has been affecting northern Italy, in particular the Emilia Romagna region over the last 48 hours, causing floods and rivers overflow that have resulted in population displacement and widespread damage. The affected provinces are Ravenna (the worst affected), Forlì-Cesena and the eastern Bologna province.
- Media report, as of 19 September, approximately 1,250 displaced people, of which around 720 in the Ravenna province, where the worst affected area are the Faenza and the Castel Bolognese municipalities and 358 displaced people across the Bologna province. In addition, media also reports a number of affected municipalities and villages throughout the aforementioned provinces: Cotignola, Lugo, Villa San Martino and Zagonara.
- The Copernicus Emergency Management Service was activated in rapid mapping mode (EMSR762) on 18 September early in the afternoon (UTC) to provide the damage assessment over the Emilia Romagna region.
- Over the next 24 hours, moderate rainfall is still forecast over most of the region, particularly over the central-eastern Emilia Romagna, and central-northern part of Marche region. The Italian Civil Protection has issued a red alert for hydrogeological and hydraulic risk over this area.

- Very heavy rainfall affected northern and central-eastern Italy, in particular the Emilia Romagna and the neighbouring Marche regions over 17-19 September, causing floods, rivers overflow and triggering landslides that have resulted in casualties and widespread damage. The affected provinces are Ravenna, the worst affected, Forlì-Cesena and eastern Bologna province, Emilia Romagna and Ancona (Marche).
- Media and the Italian Civil Protection report, as of 20 September, one casualty in the Puglia region occurred on 17 September. Two persons still missing in the area of Bagnacavallo municipality, Ravenna province and more than 1,000 displaced people, mainly across the Ravenna province and a number in the Bologna province. In addition, media reports a number of affected municipalities and villages throughout the aforementioned provinces: Cotignola, Lugo, Villa San Martino and Zagonara. Morevoer, a number of evacuated people were reported in the area of Ancona city and Falconara Marittima municipality (Marche).
- The Copernicus Emergency Management System (EMS) was activated in rapid mapping mode () on 18 September to provide the damage assessment over Emilia Romagna.
- Over the next 72 hours, no more rainfall is forecast over Emilia Romagna and Marche. The red alert for hydrogeological and hydraulic risk issued by the Italian Civil Protection over central-eastern Emilia Romagna is still in force.
