  • The rainy season continues to affect most parts of Indonesia, causing floods, flash floods and landslides that result in casualties, severe weather-related incidents and damage.
  • The National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure reports that a landslide occurred in Sisundung Village, North Sumatra province on 22 February, leading to two fatalities and two destroyed houses. Furthermore, Bandar Lampung City in Sumatra island experienced flood and landslide events which resulted in two fatalities, 9,353 affected families and one damaged house. Furthermore, on 23 February, strong winds hit Bantul Regency in the Special Region of Yogyakarta where one person has been injured and 27 families affected.
  • From 24 to 27 February, moderate to very heavy rain is still expected over most parts of the country, including South Sumatra, Lampung and most of Java island.

  • Java Island continues to experience heavy rainfall and consequent floods that are resulting in an increasing amount of evacuated and affected people.
  • The ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet) reports more than 1,000 evacuated people, almost 78,000 affected people, as well as about 24,000 houses across the provinces of West Java and Banten.
  • For the next 48 hours, cloudy skies and light rain are expected across the hit provinces.

  • Floods, landslides, and strong winds have been affecting the provinces of central Sulawesi, north Sumatra, north Maluku and east Java, resulting in fatalities and damage.
  • According to the National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB), a landslide caused ten deaths in Java on 3 April. As of 7 April, BNPB also reports that 15 people were affected in Sumatra, 115 housing units in Sulawesi, and 100 houses were affected in Maluku, where residents evacuated independently.
  • Over the next 72 hours, more rainfall is forecasted over Indonesia, with very heavy rain over the islands of Borneo, Sumatra, Sulawesi and western New Guinea.

  • Heavy rain, floods and subsequent landslides have struck Indonesia in the first week of May 2025, prompting evacuations and causing damage.
  • According to the National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB) and as at 6 May, a total of 51 people were evacuated in West Java Province on 4 May. Notably, West Java Province has been under a state of emergency since October 8, 2024, which is set to remain in effect until May 31, 2025.
  • In addition to West Java, Gorontalo Province experienced tornadoes, resulting in the evacuation of 81 people and affecting a total of 248 individuals. In East Kalimantan Province, infrastructure and public facilities have suffered damage in the impacted areas.
  • Over the next 72 hours, heavy to locally heavy rain are forecast across Indonesia.
