  • A new tropical storm named EIGHT has formed over the northern Philippine Sea and is moving toward southern Honshu Island, central Japan. As of 15 July at 00.00 (UTC), its centre was located over the ocean, approximately 700 km south of the Greater Tokyo area, with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h, tropical storm.
  • EIGHT is expected to move northward and is projected to approach the coast of Chiba Prefecture, central-eastern Honshu on 15 July, maintaining its tropical storm intensity.
  • On 15–16 July, heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected across central-eastern and northeastern Honshu, as well as Hokkaido Island.
