  • The amount of casualties is increasing following heavy rainfall and consequent floods and landslides that have been affecting Potosí, La Paz and Chuquisaca Departments in western-central and southern Bolivia since 10 December.
  • According to media reports, at least 14 people died of whom 11 were in Chuquisaca and three in Potosí Department. The worst hit area in Potosí is Cotagaita Municipality where 1,780 families have been affected and 500 animals died following the heavy rainfall.
  • For the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast over most of western Bolivia. Hydrological warnings are in effect for La Paz Department.
