KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa, Mid-December 2023The Department of Cooperative Governance in KwaZulu-Natal Province (KZNCOGTA), South Africa, reported a thunderstorm on 18 December 2023 caused damage in Dundee and Glencoe in uMzinyathi District Municipality. The damage caused included flooding in numerous households within the Sithembile township and fallen trees resulting in blocked roads. One person died from a lightning strike, 6 were injured as roofs and walls collapsed on them, KZNCOGTA said.
