  • On?12?May, heavy rain fell on the Havza district of Samsun province in northern?Türkiye, causing rivers to overflow and flooding streets, homes and basements, resulting in casualties.
  • As of?13?May, seven people were injured and hospitalised according to national authorities; none of these injured required intensive treatment. Media further report cars being carried by the floodwaters, roads littered with debris and several buildings partially submerged.
  • Firefighters, police and disaster-response teams were deployed to rescue residents, clear the debris and assist the affected population.
  • Forecasts indicate that additional rainfall and thunderstorms are expected across much of?Türkiye over the next?48?hours.
