  • Heavy rainfall has been affecting northern, western and central Indonesia, in particular Java, Sumatra and Borneo Islands over the last week, causing floods that have resulted in damage. 
  • UN OCHA reports, as of 13 December, a total of more than 15,900 affected people across ten provinces, namely: West Sumatra, North Sumatra, Riau, Banten, Central Java, West Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan and West Nusa Tenggara. 
  • Over the next 72 hours, more heavy rainfall is still forecast over most of Indonesia. Very heavy rainfall is locally forecast in particular over Sumatra and Borneo Islands.
