  • An earthquake of 5.4 M at a depth of 10 km occurred on 18 July at 9.30 UTC (16.00 local time) in the Mandalay region of central Myanmar. The epicentre was located about 35 km east-northeast of Shwebo city and 88 km north of Mandalay city in the Mandalay region.
  • USGS estimated that up to 4,000 people were exposed to very strong shaking, while 100,000 were exposed to strong shaking.
  • According to media, there were no reports of injured people or damage in the area due to this event. The same area was hit by the 7.7 M earthquake on 28 March, causing more than 3,800 fatalities.
