Gujarat, India, Late August 2020Severe weather affected parts of Gujarat from around 20 August, with some fatalities reported as a result of heavy rain or lightning strike. Particularly severe flooding affected the state from late August after heavy rain from around 29 August, affecting the the districts of Surat, Savarkantha, Rajkot, Patan, Narmada, Morbi, Jamnagar, Gir-Somnath, Devbhumi Dwarka, Botad, Bhavnagar, Bharuch and Amreli. According to India's Disaster Management Division (DMD) reported around 12,000 people evacuated from 29 August to 01 September.
