Typhoon Krovanh set to miss CNMI

The Northern Marianas looks likely to be spared the brunt of Typhoon Krovanh if the system follows its projected path over the next few days. Krovanh which has wind speeds of over 120 kilometres per hour is expected to head northwest today and then north on Friday taking it away from CNMI, towards Japan.

A typhoon watch has been issued for the Northern Marianas with winds expected to reach speeds of over 100 kilometres an hour later today. Tropical Storm Krovanh which is expected to intensify into a typhoon is threatening the Northern Islands of Alamagan, Pagan and Agrihan.
