- Meidän oli tarkoitus olla siellä seitsemän viikkoa. Ehdimme olla vajaan viikon, kun tsunami iski. Unelmalomasta tuli hetkessä kauhuloma. Pariskunnan onnistui juosta vuorille pakoon valtavaa vesimassaa. He selvisivät, mutta tsunami kulkee Maarit Savinaisen mukana tavallaan koko ajan.

De hulpverlening na grote rampen is verbeterd dankzij de tsunamiramp op tweede kerstdag 2004. Dat melden de samenwerkende hulporganisaties vrijdag in een online magazine over de tsunami. „Elke hulpactie na rampen wordt sindsdien vergeleken met die van toen”, aldus Jan Bouke Wijbrandi, de directeur van Unicef Nederland.
