Humanitær hjelp begynner så smått å komme inn i deler av Chikwawa-distriktet hvor vannet har begynt å trekke seg tilbake. Men enkelte av de hardest rammede områdene er kun tilgjengelige med helikopter. Dette gjør det vanskelig å nå frem med humanitær hjelp. Siden 9. januar har Leger Uten Grenser gitt nødhjelp til flomofre.
