ضرب زلزالا بلغت قوته 5.4 درجات على مقياس ريختر العاصمة اليابانية (طوكيو) والمناطق المجاورة لها اليوم الأحد، ولكن لم تصدر الوكالة أي تحذيرات من وقوع موجات مد عاتية (تسونامي). وأوضحت وكالة الأرصاد الجوية اليابانية أن مركز الزلزال في أعماق المحيط الهادئ قبالة محافظة تشيبا شرق طوكيو، ولم تصدر بعد أي أنباء عن وقوع خسائر في الأرواح أو الممتلكات.
