WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Radio New Zealand International, Aug. 1) – The U.S. Geological Survey says a 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck the southeast of Santo in Vanuatu early this morning. It says the quake was at a depth of 172.7 kilometers and the epicenter was 1,996 kilometers northeast of Brisbane, Australia.
