  • A new tropical storm named TWELVE formed over the eastern Coral Sea betwenn 7-8 February (UTC) and started moving south-east toward central Vanuatu and north of New Caledonia (France). On 9 February at 6.00 UTC, its centre was located offshore approximately 180 km north-west of the Port Vila Capital City (Éfaté Island), with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h (tropical storm).
  • TWELVE is forecast to pass between Éfaté Island and Erromango Island in the morning (UTC) of 10 February, with maximum sustained winds up to 74 km/h. It is expected to continue southeastward over the South West Pacific Ocean, far off the Fiji Islands, on 11-12 February, weakening.
  • Over the next 24 hours, heavy rainfall, strong winds and storm surge are forecast over the whole Vanuatu. Moderate rainfall is also forecast over eastern New Caledonia.
