  • Heavy rainfall has been affecting western, central and eastern France (mainly Centre-Val de Loire, Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Regions) since 30 March, causing floods and rivers overflow (in particular Creuse, Gartempe and Vienne Rivers) that have resulted in population evacuation, casulties and damage.
  • Media report, as of 2 April, approximately 750 evacuated people (of which more than 150 in two evacuation centres) across the Indre-et-Loire Department (Centre-Val de Loire Region). In addition, media also report one person still missing across the Haute-Vienne Department (Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region).
  • Moreover, the Interdepartmental Crisis Management Operational Centre (COGIC) reports 18 rescued people in the Côte-d'Or Department (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region).
  • Over the next 24 hours, more rainfall is forecast over most of France, particularly over western and central Regions.
