An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 occurred in the NEW britain region PAPUA NEW GUINEA at 2005 UTC on friday APRIL 4 2025
Based on all available data the TSUNAMI threat from this earthquake has now passed
There were no sea level gauges in the immediate vicinity of epicenter
However no TSUNAMI was observed at the closest coastal sea level gauge at lombrum nor at the closest deep ocean bottom pressure sensor
