Togo, October 2022IFRC reported on 17 October that heavy rain from early October caused flooding in Savanes Region, northern Togo, in particular Oti and Kpendjal prefectures, with a total of 227 houses damaged or destroyed. IFRC said warned that almost all the rainfall recorded in the northern zone flows into the Mono River (Maritime Region) which houses the Nangbéto dam where capacity has been exceeded since early October. IFRC reported flooding in the prefectures of Yoto, Lacs and Bas-Mono, with a total of 1,093 households affected. Officials had previously warned that levels of the Nangbéto reservoir in Plateaux Region, Togo, were high from late August and dam releases were imminent, with possible flooding downstream along the Mono River likely.Sun 30 Oct 2022Provided by Copernicus EMS GloFAS
