Malawi, April 2024The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) in Malawi reported flooding in lower Shire, lakeshore and northern areas on 14 April 2024. Two people died and thousands were affected after flash floods in Chikwawa District. Rising levels of Lake Malawi impacted areas of Nkhotakota and Mangochi districts. The Department of Water Resources issued a warning on flooding in North Rukuru, South Rukuru, Hara, Nyungwe, Wovwe, Songwe, Kyungu, Lufilya, Limphasa, Nkhula, Lipimbi, Dwambazi, Dwangwa, Bua, Luweya, Kajilirwe, Kakwewa, Kalungulu, Kalwe, Luchelemu, Linthipe, Lingadzi, Lifidzi and Nadzipuru Rivers.Mon 15 Apr 2024Provided by Copernicus EMS GloFAS
