Australia - Floods

Since 6 August, heavy rainfall has been affecting New South Wales in south eastern Australia. It caused flooding that resulted in at least one casualty and damage.
As of 8 August, media report one fatality, in Rothbury town of the Newcastle region. Evacuations have been ordered for 16 locations from Narrabri to Wee Waa towns in the Namoi valley, in northern New South Wales, due to the rising water level of the rivers.
Over the next 48 hours, more rainfall is forecast over north-eastern New South Wales.
