  • On 14-15 October, severe weather, including thunderstorms, strong wind, and flash floods, has been affecting Klang district - particularly Meru town - and Kuala Langat district of Selangor state, western Malaysia, resulting in widespread damage.
  • According to media, as of 15 October, 13 people were injured around Meru and Kuala Langat, and 36 people were displaced and sheltered in a city council building in Meru. Another 65 people were evacuated in Lips due to flash floods; a second shelter was opened close by. Widespread damage to 40 homes, five schools, one community hall, and several vehicles are reported.
  • Over the next 48 hours, additional rain with isolated heavy rain is forecast across the country. For 17 October, authorities have issued a thunderstorm warning, including lightning and strong winds for large parts of Malaysia, including Selangor state.
