Tropical Storm Ewetse, Madagascar, Late January 2026Local media reported heavy rain from Tropical Storm Ewetse caused flooding in southern Madagascar from 21 January 2026. On 25 January disaster authorities warned of a possible dam failure on the Sisaony River in the central Analamanga Region following further heavy rain. Communes along the Sisaony River including Amphitrosy, Ampanefy, Soalandy, Soavina, and Anosizato, were warned to evacuate low-lying areas.
