Blagoevgrad Province, Bulgaria, Late August 2026Local officials reported flooding in Blagoevgrad Province, Bulgaria, in late August 2026. An intense storm with heavy rain caused rapid flash flooding on the Shashka and Zlinska rivers. Floodwaters carried large quantities of mud, rocks, trees and other debris through the affected area.
