Uttar Pradesh, India, August 2021Several rivers in Uttar Pradesh were above the danger mark from early August 2021. As of 09 August, India's Disaster Management Division (DMD) reported 104,704 people affected across 466 villages in 21 districts were affected, 272 houses destroyed and 722 severely damaged. As of 09 August 6,237 people had moved to 880 relief camps. DMD said high river levels in the state were a result of flows from swollen rivers in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, combined with dam releases and heavy rain in Uttar Pradesh. The districts of Jalaun, Auraiya, Ballia, Budaun, Gonda, Etawah, Prayagraj and Baghpat were affected, among others.Wed 11 Aug 2021Provided by Copernicus EMS GloFAS
