  • An earthquake of 5.4 M (5.3 M as registered by PHIVOLCS) at a depth of 10 km occurred in eastern Mindanao Island (southern Philippines) on 5 March at 20.43 UTC (6 March at 4.43 local time). The epicentre was located approximately 6,5 km south-east of New Bataan Town (Davao de Oro Province, Davao Region).
  • Several aftershocks have been recorded in the area. USGS estimates that up to 31,000 people were exposed to strong shaking.
  • According to media, there are no immediate reports of any casualties or damage.
