  • On 27 July, heavy rainfall triggering flash floods have affected Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa state, northeastern Nigeria, causing fatalities and damage.
  • Media reports as of 29 July, 25 fatalities,11 missing, 55 injured, and 5,560 displaced people. One shelter has been set up at Aliyu Musdafa College in Yola. Several homes and roads have been submerged.
  • Over the next 48 hours, heavy to very heavy rain is expected across Nigeria.
  • The crisis modifier of a DG ECHO funded project has been activated for an initial emergency response.
