  • An earthquake of 6.6 M at a depth of 52 km occurred in Papua New Guinea on 15 November at 5.28 UTC (15.28 local time). The epicentre was located on the sea 35 km east of the coast of New Ireland Island at 123 km east-south-east of Kokopo town, in East New Britain Province, eastern Papua New Guinea.
  • USGS PAGER estimated that up to 5,000 people were exposed to moderate shaking and up to 622,000 people to light shaking.
  • According to media reports, as of 15 November, there are no immediate reports of any casualties or damage.
