  • An earthquake of 6.0 M at a depth of 10 km occcured in Türkiye on 27 October at 19.48 UTC (22.48 local time). The epicentre was located approximately 4 km south-east of Sindirgi municipality, Balikesir Province, western Türkiye. Four aftershocks with magnitudes between 4.1 to 4.5 M at depths of 10-21 km were recorded in the area between 23:30 and 02:36 UTC, closely after the main event.
  • USGS PAGER estimates that up to 49,000 people were exposed to strong shaking, 14,000 to very strong shaking, and 13,000 to severe shaking.
  • Media, as at 27 October, reports that at least three buildings collapsed. The earthquake was felt up to Izmir and Istanbul.
