  • Heavy rainfall has been affecting central Thailand - in particular the Ayutthaya, the Phichit and the Phetchabun provinces - over the past few days, causing floods that have resulted in casualties and damage.
  • Media report, as of 24 September, four fatalities, of which two were in the Ayutthaya province, one in the Phichit province and one more in the Phetchabun province. In addition, media also report approximately 250,000 affected people across several provinces in the area of the Chao Praya river basin, central Thailand.
  • Over the next 96 hours, more heavy rainfall with locally very heavy rainfall is still forecast over central Thailand.

  • Heavy rainfall continues to affect Thailand in the last days, with Uttaradit and Ayutthaya in northern Thailand as the most affected provinces, causing flooding that have resulted in casualties and damage.
  • According to media, as of 8 October, at least 22 people died - eight in Uttaradit, eight in Ayutthaya, three in Yasothon, and one each in Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, and Phichit provinces. At least 369,724 people across 19 provinces and 3,036 villages have been affected.
  • On 9-10 October, more rainfall and thunderstorms are expected over the whole country.
