  • Heavy rainfall has been affecting the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast in eastern Bulgaria since 3 October, resulting in flooding and causing casualties and severe damage.
  • According to media, as of 5 October, four people died, and more than 100 have been evacuated in Elenite seaside resort in Burgas Province, eastern Bulgaria, where flooding damaged buildings, roads, and campsites, and four schools have switched to online education.
  • National authorities declared a state of emergency for several localities in the Black Sea Coast, including Nesebar and Tsarevo cities, and search and recovery operations were still ongoing.
  • Over the next 48 hours, more rainfall is still forecast over the whole country.
