  • On 17 June at 10:50 UTC, the Lewotobi Laki-laki volcano, located in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, erupted again. The explosion produced an ash column rising over 10 km high and generated pyroclastic flows spreading in all directions.
  • According to the National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB), no casualties have been reported so far. However, ashfall has affected several villages near the volcano, including Boru, Hewa, Animal, and Watobuku. In addition, some residents from Nurabelen Village in the Ile Bura District have been preventively evacuated to shelters in Konga.
  • The alert level remains at 4, the highest on the scale. All activities are prohibited within a 6 km radius of the crater, and people are advised to avoid the southwest–northeast sector up to 7 km from the crater.

  • The Lewotobi Laki-laki volcano in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara province, erupted on 17 June at 10:50 UTC producing an ash plume that reached 20 km above the crater and  prompting evacuations.
  • According to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and to the National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB), at least 4,796 people have been displaced and 2,341 have been assisted. Six districts in two islands have been impacted by volcanic ash, and more than 12 flights have been affected at the Komodo International Airport in the town of Labuan Bajo.
    The alert level remains at 4, the highest level and public activities are forbidden within a 7-8 km radius of the crater.
  • A state of emergency for the East Flores District is effective from February to August 2025.

  • On 7 July at 3.05 UTC, a new strong eruption occurred at the Lewotobi Laki-laki volcano in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The ash plume reached approximately 18 km above the summit of the crater, and lava flows were observed spreading west-northwest for 3.8 km and northeast for 4.34 km.
  • According to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the villages of Nawakote, Klatanlo, Hokeng Jaya, Boru, and Pululera in Wulanggitang District have been directly impacted by ashfall. Additionally, Larantuka Airport and Maumere Airport were temporarily closed due to ash deposits.
  • National authorities are monitoring the volcano and providing direct assistance, including dispatching 50,000 masks to East Flores for residents in the affected areas.
  • The alert level remains at Level 4 (the highest level), and public activities are prohibited within a 7–8 km radius of the crater.
