Since 30 October, tropical storm PILAR brought heavy rainfall and strong winds across the western regions of El Salvador, resulting in casualties and damage.
According to media, at least three people died while more than 500 others were evacuated. The Government of El Salvador has declared a nationwide red alert and a 15-days national state of emergency.
As of 2 November at 3:00 UTC, PILAR is located over the Pacific Ocean almost 400 km west of the coast of El Salvador and it will continue westwards over the Sea.
For the next 24 hours, moderate rain is expected across most parts of the country.
