  • The humanitarian impact of the severe weather and floods that affected western Angola between 4 and 6 April is increasing.
  • According to media, as of 7 April, 42 people died, including 24 in the city of Benguela, 12 in Luanda, four in Cuanza Sul, and two in Malanje. There are still missing people, and thousands of people who have been displaced. Several homes have been destroyed, and damage to infrastructure and roads has been reported in Luanda and Benguela cities.
  • For the next 48 hours, more rainfall is forecast across most of Angola.
