Tropical Cyclone IN-FA, formed on 16 July, is moving westwards over the northern Philippine Sea, and on 21 July at 0.00 UTC, its centre was located approximately 8 250 km east of Miyakojima Island (Ryukyu Islands, southern Japan), with maximum sustained winds of 176 km/h.
IN-FA is expected to intensify as it moves westwards over the Philippine Sea, and it is forecast to reach the Yaeyama Islands (Ryukyu Islands, southern Japan) in the morning of 23 July.
Red warnings for high waves have been issued for the Ryukyu Islands. Moderate rainfall is forecast for the Ryukyu Islands, on 21-22 July.

Tropical Cyclone IN-FA is moving north-west over the northern Philippine Sea. On 22 July at 0.00 UTC, its centre was approximately 165 km south-east of Miyakojima Island (Ryukyu Islands, southern Japan), with maximum sustained winds of 167 km/h.
According to media reports, evacuation orders have been issued for Miyakojima and Yaeyama Islands, as IN-FA is expected to intensify before reaching the Yaeyama Islands (Ryukyu Islands, southern Japan) early morning 23 July, with maximum sustained winds up to 185 km/h. It is forecast to reach the eastern coast of central China early morning 25 July, with maximum sustained winds up to 140 km/h.
Emergency warnings (level 4/5) for storm surge have been issued for Yaeyama Islands and red warnings for heavy rainfall, floods and high waves for the Ryukyu Islands. In Taiwan, extremely heavy rain advisories have been issued for northern areas of the Island.

Tropical Cyclone IN-FA is moving north-westwards towards southern Ryukyu Islands (southern Japan). On 23 July at 0.00 UTC, its centre was 70 km south of Miyakojima Island, with maximum sustained winds of 139 km/h.
After passing over southern Ryukyu, IN-FA is forecast to pass north of Taiwan, approaching the central coast of eastern China early on 25 July, with maximum sustained winds up to 140 km/h.
Emergency warnings (level 4/5) for storm surge has been issued for Yaeyama Islands (southern Ryukyu), while red warnings for heavy rainfall, floods and high waves are in effect for the Ryukyu Islands. In Taiwan, extremely heavy rain advisories have been issued for northern areas of the Island.
From 24 July, heavy rainfall is forecast over the central coast of eastern China.

China - Tropical Cylone IN-FA (ECHO 26 Jul 2021)Mon, 26 Jul 2021 16:32

Tropical Cyclone IN-FA made landfall in Zhoushan Archipelago (Zhejiang Province, central coast of eastern China), south of Shanghai, and on 26 July at 0.00 UTC, its centre was 40 km south of Shanghai, with maximum sustained winds of 74 km/h (tropical storm).
According to the official Chinese news agency (Xinhua), over 1.5 million people were evacuated and at least 12,000 temporary shelters opened across Zhejiang Province, while in Shanghai about 360,000 people were evacuated. Floods and damage due to strong winds in Shanghai led to transport disruptions.
Over the next 24 hours, IN-FA is forecast to weaken as it moves north-west, reaching Anhui Province early morning on 27 July, with maximum sustained winds up to 65 km/h.
On 26-27 July, heavy rainfall and strong winds are forecast over central-eastern China.
