  • Intense rainfall and thunderstorms have been affecting the province of Tucumán in northern Argentina since 11 March, causing rivers to overflow, which resulted in evacuations and damage.
  • As of 15 March, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) reports 15 000 displaced across the Tucumán province, with Lamadrid, Graneros, La Cocha, Leales, Alberdi, Río Chico, Simoca, and Bella Vista as the most affected localities. The overflow of the Marapa River has affected at least 6 000 people in Lamadrid in the south-east Tucumán province.
  • On 16 March, drier condition are expected over the province of Tucumán, more rainfall are forecast on 18-19 March.
