  • Heavy rainfall has been affecting western Mexico, in particular the Jalisco State since 15 July, causing floods and triggering landslides that have resulted in casualties and damage.
  • Media reports, as of 17 July, one fatality, 12 injured people, several rescued people, and a number of evacuated people in temporary emergency shelters across the area of the city of Zapopan, northern Jalisco State. In addition, media also reports 144 damaged houses, with many severely damaged, across the affected area.
  • Over the next 72 hours, more heavy rainfall, with locally very heavy rainfall, is forecast over western and central Mexico, including the already affected Jalisco state.
