Cyclone Michaung, India, Early December 2023Cyclone Michaung caused coastal and flash flooding in parts of Tamil Nadu including Chennai, India, in early December 2023. On 04 December the Greater Chennai Corporation requested all residents stay indoors. Relief centres were opened to house any displaced in Chennai. Offices and schools were to be closed on 05 December in Chengalpet, Kancheepuram and Thiruvallur Districts. Areas of Chennai Airport were flooded.
