  • Heavy rainfall has been affecting the Buenos Aires province in central-eastern Argentina since 16 May, causing flooding that has resulted in casualties and damage. The most affected municipalities are Chacabuco, Chivilcoy, San Antonio de Areco, Zárate, Campana, Lima, Arrecifes, and Quilmes in the northern part of the Buenos Aires province.
  • According to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), as of 19 May, one person has died, four people are missing, and 500 have been injured. A total of 4,090 people have been displaced, with an undetermined number of people requiring evacuation, and a total of 25,000 people have been affected. At least 28 municipalities or departments have reported some type of damage, while access to some cities has been cut off.
  • Over the next 48 hours, cloudy conditions are expected to persist over the Buenos Aires province.
