  • Heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding have impacted the city of Accra and several other cities in the Greater Accra region of southeastern Ghana since 18 May, resulting in loss of life and damage.
  • As at 21 May, media reports indicated that four people died and approximately 3,000 individuals had been displaced. The floods also swept away vehicles and rendered roads impassable.
  • Moderate and sporadic rain is forecast for Accra on 22 May, but heavier rainfall is expected to return by 23 May.
