  • On 21 May, a major landslide occurred in the Sainte-Monique municipality, located in the Centre-du-Québec region of the province of Québec, eastern Canada, following a period of heavy rainfall. The incident resulted in evacuations and significant destruction.
  • As at 22 May, according to media reports, seven people were evacuated as a precautionary measure after a nearby vacant house was affected by the landslide. The house was swept away as the ground sagged towards a nearby river, creating a large crater. The landslide also impacted two roads in the area.
  • Over the next 48 hours, more rain is expected over Québec.
